New recruitment rules for class IV would be against the interests of local youths of backward districts :Congress

Jammu, June 5 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee has said that the new recruitment rules for class IV th posts would be against the interests of local youths of the backward and under developed districts and remote areas.
Reacting to the new recruitment rules, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has said that thousands of applicants in various district, who had appeared twice for the selection tests for class IV posts are left high and dry and have gone averaged.
In a statement issued to KNS, the party has said that under the new recruitment rules the local youth of such districts which have scarce and limited educational facilities would be at great loss in the open competitions with the youth of advanced districts.
JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that earlier only the local youths were eligible for the district Cadre posts in their respective districts except the candidates of scheduled castes categories. Now all domicile holders including from the rest of country, who qualify as per new domicile law would apply and compete with the local youth of backward districts and small margin of additional marks to locals would not help them succeed.
He also questioned the preferences to the youth having no family members already in Govt service and said that unless income bar is attached, the benefits can be availed by well off families. However, he welcomed the additional marks for widows, orphans and other compassionate sections, but demanded additional points also to the candidates getting overaged.
Mr Sharma said that the the party also seeks regularisation of all casual and adhoc, temporary, daily wagers including need based workers in different Govt and semi Govt institutions after seven years of service . He said the Govt should clarify whether the additional marks would be given to need based and CP workers too or not in class IV recruitments, as the order is not clear about these sections of workers.(KNS)
