Srinagar, July 08:(KNS)   The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday paid glowing tributes and offered Fateh at the final resting place of veteran Party Leader, and Former MLA Kulgam Shaheed Advocate Ghulam Nabi Dar on his 15th death anniversary at his ancestral graveyard in Chawalgam, Kulgam.

On the occasion Party Spokesperson and Constituency In-Charge Kulgam Imran Nabi Dar led the party functionaries, delegates, and local block functionaries in paying floral tributes and Fateh to at the final resting place of the party veteran.  The occasion was also marked by recitation of holy verses of the holy Quran. Various senior leaders of the party including State Secretary Sakina Itoo, Abdul Majeed Larmi and others were not allowed by the authorities to attend the death anniversary observance. It is germane to mention that the participation of the functionaries, workers and general public was kept restricted in view of the security SOPs issued by district police.

Later an austere and restricted commemorative function was held at the party Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar’s residence, where local party functionaries recalled the contribution of the late leader for the socio-political emancipation of the District. Among others Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar and district secretary Safdar Ali khan also addresses the workers, delegates and local block functionaries. Those who spoke on the occasion paid glorious tributes to Dar and termed him as a dedicated and sincere soldier of the party who laid his life for his beliefs. The gathering was kept simple keeping in view the prevailing COVID-19 health advisories and protocol.

On the occasion Imran Nabi Dar also paid glowing tributes to M Yusuf Shah, M Yusuf Wani, Ali Zargar, and Azad Wani, who had also attained martyrdom in the heart wrenching grenade blast that had martyred Late Dar sahib on the ill-fated day.

Meanwhile a commemorative meet was held at party head quarters Nawa- e- Subha in Srinagar, where Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar lead the party functionaries in paying glowing tributes to the late leader. Among others who were present on the occasion include MP Muhammad Akbar Lone, Ali Muhammad Dar, Syed Tauqeer Ahmed, and Er. Sabiya Qadri, Ahsan Pardesi, Mudassar Shahmiri, Aisha Jameel, and Dr Syed. The participants highlighted the role played by late Dar sahib towards the socio-political emancipation and ushering in an era of development in kulgam. The functionaries also praised the late leader’s undemanding, simple, people friendly and pious nature. On the occasion Mir G M Saqi led the Fatiha prayers for the late leader.(KNS)
