Srinagar, Mar 31 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Front chairman, Sandeep Mawa on Thursday levelled serious allegations against former finance minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir and NC leader, Abdul Rahim Rather even as the later called him a mentally deranged man.

 

Addressing a press conference, Mawa said that NC leader, Abdul Rahim Rather was involved in deep-rooted corrupt practices when he was finance minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

He said that government of India had been sending lot of funds for various projects, which would come through finance department and the department was twice headed by Rather.

 

“He is involved in deep-rooted corruption for which he has a substantial proof. His son has property worth crores in foreign countries including America. He himself had partnership with multi-national companies when he was a minister,” Mawa alleged.

 

He also said that NC has filed a defamation suite against me, which is their right and he is with the process of judiciary, but he has just highlighted some genuine issues and corrupt practices that NC has been involved in during their rule.

 

Meanwhile, senior NC leader and former minister, Abdul Rahim Rather while responding to the allegations levelled against him by Mawa, said that he is a mentally deranged man and he would suggest him to go to a mental hospital for treatment.

 

He said that he would not have responding to such lame allegations, but since this the time of advanced age and social media, so he thought to respond to his allegations. 

 

“I thought that some people might get influenced by these lame allegations by Mawa. I responded to the allegations of deranged man only to clear doubts of those, who might get influenced by the statement of Sandeep Mawa,” he said. 

 

Notably, Mawa had also levelled allegations against NC provincial president, Nasir Aslam Wani a few days ago during an interview to some news portal.

 

Following the allegations, NC leader filed a defamation suite against Mawa in a Srinagar court, which admitted the petition and issued a summon against Mawa through SHO Karan Nagar. (KNS)
