Naugam Brigade organise International Democracy Day was celebrated in Mawer Valley

 Handwara Sep 15(KNS): International Democracy is celebrated to honour the principles of democracy and commemorate the struggles and sacrifices made to secure and sustain democratic governance.

With a vision of honouring the principles and essence of Democracy, an event was organised at Chinar 9 Jawan Club, Naugam which witnessed active participation of the young torchbearers of democracy.

The event commenced  with displaying an informative video on democracy followed by thought provoking speech by the village Sarpanch and address by chairman of Lalded Youth Club, a local NGO. The heart of the event was the enthusiastic participation of school children. Their rendition of patriotic songs and poems stirred emotions of oneness in the audience.

The program concluded with prize distribution ceremony for the Painting and Essay Writing Competition conducted  on the themes Democracy in Action and Democracy - A beacon of Hope
Respectively, with an active participation of total 35 children of High School, AGS,  and Chinar 9 Jawan Club.

Army officials and community leaders attending the event, recognised the exceptional creativity of the winners and emphasised upon the importance of nurturing young minds for a better tomorrow.

The celebration of International Democracy Day orchestrated by the Army, was a testament to the power of democracy and unity.(KNS).
