National Mathematics Day celebrated in Sopore higher secondary school

Sopore, Dec 22 (KNS): Chief Education Officer (CEO) in collaboration with Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore celebrated National Mathematics Day on December 22 to commemorate the birth anniversary of India's mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.

The event was held at auditorium of the School in which Students, teachers and other mathematics enthusiast took part in the session. The chief guest of the event was Chief Education Officer Baramulla. Besides Director JKMI Tariq Ahmed, Dr. B.A ZargarZargar Prof Kashmir University, Dr Nissar Ahmed Khanday, ZEO Sopore and other prominent citizens were present on the occasion. 

The event was initiated with Tilawate-Quran. The session was lively and lot of things were discussed pertaining to the subject of mathematics. Speaking on the occasion CEO Baramulla G.M Lone said, "There is a constant fear among the present generation when it comes to mathematics, and only a few choose this subject by choice. In order to eradicate the fear we need to identify the problem area and rectify it. 

"Teachers also are important in motivating and moulding the children in such a manner that they become passionate learners of the subject", he said. 

Mementos and appreciation certificates were also distributed among students, teachers, and others. The concluding remarks came from Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Abdul Rashees while thanking all the guests present in the event. (KNS)
