Moulana Akhzar Hussain concerned over silence of politicians on challenges faced by J&K people

Srinager, June 15 (KNS): Moulana Peerzada Akhzar Hussain patron Unjimani Ulmaie Ahnaf, Jammu and Kashmir, expressed deep disappointment with the silence of political parties regarding the numerous challenges faced by the people of Kashmir Valley.

In a statement iisued to KNS, he highlighted the urgent need for attention to pressing issues such as the power crisis and dilapidated road conditions.

He said that the residents of Kashmir Valley are enduring significant hardships, particularly in accessing basic facilities. He lamented the lack of attention given to their struggles and accused local political parties of engaging in rhetoric and mutual accusations instead of addressing the pressing issues at hand

One of the major concerns raised by Maulana Akhidr Hussain is the deplorable condition of roads. While the administration focuses primarily on the smart city project, little attention is given to areas outside Lalchowk where people face immense difficulties due to dilapidated roads. The inability to cross these areas safely further exacerbates the challenges faced by the residents.

Moreover, a looming electricity crisis adds to the hardships of the people. Maulana Akhidr Hussain criticized the lack of attention from political parties regarding the ongoing installation of smart meters, highlighting the financial burden it places on the majority of low-income individuals. He underscored the unfairness of depriving people of essential electricity services, especially during scorching hot days.

He also said that if political parties continue to disregard the pressing problems and fail to advocate for the people, scholars and intellectuals may be compelled to take to the streets in support of the community. He urged political parties to prioritize finding sustainable solutions to the power crisis and road conditions, addressing the needs of the Kashmir Valley residents.

The head of Anjuman Ulamai Hanaf emphasized that the electricity crisis is a significant issue that cannot be ignored, particularly due to the adverse impact it has on people's lives. Depriving individuals of electricity during the sweltering heat is deemed unjust and calls for immediate attention.(KNS).
