MNREGA, BRO mutually kick started development of Mohra Baaz road in Uri

Srinagar, Apr 19 (KNS): The Ministry of Rural Development have issued an advisory in reference with Mahatma Gandhi NREGA and Border Roads Organization (BRO).
 
In compliance to the advisory, a framework for construction of roads with Border Roads Organization and MGNREGA was planned by Beacon Authorities in close coordination with civil administration. In order to optimize the national outcome and to encourage convergence works in the State, MGNREGA and BRO have started its first project in the district Baramulla in the jurisdiction of 53 RCC on Mohra Baaz road.
 
The convergence programme have been kick started by the initiatives of Beacon authorities, District Development Commissioner Baramulla and SDM Uri. In view of providing opportunities to more skilled and unskilled labours in various other blocks/panchayats of Sub Division Uri the estimates are already been processed by Beacon Authorities through Sub Division Uri to the Development Commissioner, Baramulla.
 
The job card holders involved in BRO works will not only be paid their daily wage of Rs. 227 as per the MGNREGA rates but will also get the difference of wage from BRO at par with the BRO workers.(KNS)
