JAMMU, MAY 02 (KNS): Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) J&K Khurshid Ahmad Shah today reviewed the implementation of JJM in Rajouri district. The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Jal Shakti (PHE) Department Jammu Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Rajouri, Executive Engineers of field divisions, AEEs and JEs including their counterparts from the Mechanical wing.
The chair was briefed about the schemes being executed in the district through a power point presentation elaborating that out of todatl 87,188 rural households in the district 55,454 have been provided with Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) till date.
It was further informed that as many as 183 civil schemes comprising of 351 works which include 10 dugwells, 108 bore wells, 43 Rapid Sand Filtration plants (RSFP’s), two overhead tanks (OHT’s) 183 pipe networks and 5 Slow Sand Filtration plants (SSFP’s) are at different phases of execution, while 43 schemes comprising of 159 works stand completed till date.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Mission Director, while commending the department for successfully drilling 107 bore wells in the district, stressed on immediate commissioning of Rapid Sand Filtration Plants (RSFP’s) which form an essential component of ensuring quality drinking water to the beneficiaries. He stressed on effective financial management to prevent cost escalation of Water Supply Schemes.
The MD was assured that most of these RSFP are in advanced stages of completion and will be commissioned soon along with other components of the ongoing schemes.
The MD was further informed that 145 mechanical schemes are being implemented in the district of which machinery has been procured for 92 schemes and 50 schemes have been completed.(KNS)
