Srinagar, Aug 24(KNS): Anjumam Auqaf Jamia masjid said that Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Umar Farooq was again not allowed to go to Jamia Masjid Srinagar to deliver the friday sermon and offer prayers for the 209th consecutive Friday

Anjuman in a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that it has been one week since a legal notice was served by Mirwaiz to the authorities to clarify their position on his detention and release him.

Meanwhile, on 34th anniversary of Operation Jama Masjid, Anjuman remembered the infamous operation and said that repeated attempts to weaken the centrality of Jamia Masjid as a religious and public institution have failed in the past and will not succeed even in future as well. (KNS)
