Srinagar September 21 (KNS): People in Marwah, Warwan and other far flung areas falling in Kishtwar District were still living an inaccessible and miserable life in absence of the facilities required for living a smooth life, even after 75 years of Independence,there was no tele-communication, no road connectivity, besides lack of other basic facilities.

As per the statement issued to Kashmir News Service, this was disclosed by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir, who led a high-level Party delegation to Marwah and Warwan from 19th to 21st September completing three days tour on Tuesday.

Former Legislators Vice President Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, DCC President Anantnag Gulzar Ahmad Wani and Senior Party leaders of Marwah Warwan were part of the delegation.

The Congress leaders met dozens of people’s delegation from far flung areas of Marwah Warwan, who raised their hardships on account of tele-communication, road connectivity, which was only 2%, besides other basic facilities that were not available to them, even after 75 years of Independence.

The delegation apprised Congress Leaders that they were living a difficult life due to their backwardness, leading to huge inconvenience to them in every respect.

The Congress delegation observed that PMGSY Road project initiated by the UPA Govt have been left half way, ironically no efforts were made by the present dispensation to ensure road connectivity in Marwah Warwan and other far flung areas falling in Kishtwar District.

Mir said the residents of backward areas especially Anjer, Shislan, Gurantired, Gujjar Basti Anjer, Zabban, Sudder, Dung, Mathwan, Ganchal were living a difficult life on account of facilities especially roads, health and other required facilities and urged the LG J&K to personally intervene to ensure redressal of grievances confronting people, as that, these areas were neither connected with Kashmir nor Jammu, even they are not connected with district headquarters, Mir rued and demanded redressal of their grievances at right earnest to ensure respite to people.

Referring to the hot Water Spring at Sudder, which happens to be a natural therapy, Mir said even it has failed to grab the attention of the Govt resulting in there were no facilities available to visitors visiting there (hot Spring) for getting Nature therapy, JKPCC President added.

Mir said the road right from Mati-Gawran to Anshan, Anshan to Marwah, Marwah to hot water spring have no roadside facilities such as toiles, health, eateries and other basic facilities, which was 12hour long journey passing through dense forests and Govt land and urged the Govt to ensure required facilities for travelers.

JKPCC President and other leaders assured the delegations that their developmental needs will be highlighted for their redressal and reiterated that Congress Party will continue to fight for resolution of issues concerning them.(KNS)
