Srinagar, Feb 01 (KNS): Militants on Tuesday evening fired upon an assistant sub-inspector of police in Amishijipora area of Shopian district and injured him critically.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that ASI Shabir Ahmad was shot at and injured by militants after he was coming back home from a masjid after prayers in his native village Amishijipora area.

He said that the injured cop was referred to Srinagar hospital for treatment. 

The official said that area has been cordoned off, while a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up in this regard. (KNS)
