Militancy, Its Ecosystem Eradicated In Many Areas Of J&K, Says LG Manoj Sinha

Ganderbal, July 31(KNS): While efforts are still ongoing to root out militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Sunday said that the militancy and its basic ecosystem have been eradicated in many areas of J&K.


"Security forces have succeeded in eradicating militancy in many areas of Kashmir while the major efforts to root out militancy and it's basic ecosystem in the entire region is continue," the  Lt Governor said while addressing a function during passing out-cum attestation parade of 538 new recruits at Police Training Centre (PTC) Manigam. 

Terming narco-terrorism originating from the neighbouring country as a big challenge, the LG said that the security agencies are making all-out efforts to counter the menace.

Highlighting the multifarious duties being performed by Jammu and Kashmir Police, the LG said the force has been in the forefront of tackling Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, social crimes, radicalisation and law and order situation in the UT. "J&K Police is also fighting with social media propaganda," he said. 

"J&K is the finest example of superior internal security machinery with its skill, dedication, mobility and resolve to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the country. Over a period of time they have shown that where there is a will, there is a way forward," he added. 

"Along with the responsibility to maintain law and order, crackdown against drug syndicate and anti-terror operations police has won the confidence and affection of citizens by ensuring secure environment for all-round development and peace," he said. 

"We need to work with greater commitment to eliminating the new emerging threats posed by subversive elements. The forces need to redouble their efforts to control such activities orchestrated by adversaries working with evil design and evil intent," the LG added. 

He has further said that the new recruits who have completed their training course are trained to deal with militancy.(KNS).
