Qalamabad, Dec 16 (KNS): Labourers of Mawer area of Qalamabad in north Kashmir' Kupwara district working under MNREGA on Saturday urged the authorities to release their payments, which are pending for the last four years.

Labourers told Kashmir News Services (KNS) that their payments for the year 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 have not been released by the authorities, thereby making them suffer a lot.

They said they have borrowed loans to buy the material for these workers, however, despite passing of around four years the payments have not been released as yet.

The labourers said they have no sources of income and their hard-earned money has been withheld by the RDD for reasons best known to them.

They urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, Director RDD Kashmir, and deputy commissioner Kupwara to intervene into the matter. (KNS)
