Srinagar, July 01 (KNS): The SDRF and river police on Saturday rescued a a mentally challenged man who tried to commit suicide by jumping in river Jhelum near chattabal area of central Kashmir's Srinagar district.

An official said that the man tried to end his life by jumping in the river Jhelum near Weir Chattabal, however he was shorty rescued by the SDRF and river police Srinagar.

The official further said that he was later handed over to family members.(KNS).
