Kulgam, Aug 19 (KNS): President of the Municipal Council Kulgam emerged victorious in a floor test on Saturday, securing a majority of eight votes, following the initiation of a no-confidence motion against him.
During a press conference held in Kulgam today, he revealed that five councilors had introduced a no-confidence motion against his current position, leading to the necessity of a floor test.
Remarkably, the incumbent president managed to secure his position by a considerable margin of eight votes during the floor test.

Expressing his gratitude, Muneeb Zargar extended his thanks to those who once again entrusted him with their support. He attributed his success to the trust people had placed in him and the ongoing development initiatives in Kulgam town.
He went on to highlight that a fraction of individuals opposed the progress in Kulgam and were behind the instigation of the no-confidence motion. "Regrettably, some parties are against any form of progress in Kulgam, which was reflected in the no-confidence motion," he said.(KNS).
