Bandipora, Apr 30 (KNS) Even as Eid-ul-Fitr is round the corner, the city and local markets across the Kashmir valley seem to be empty with minimal rush of shoppers.

The Eid festival related business, as per the traders and shopkeepers, is yet to pick up with Eid sales marking just 30-40 percent of the previous Eid's.

One of the local retailers, Mohammad Afzal told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that Eid business is considerably low as the sales are just 30 percent of what they used to be traditionally on this occasion.

Meanwhile, local resident Mohd Yaseen said that prices of goods and essentials are skyrocketing and poor people cannot afford to buy any product from markets at such high prices.

Locals and traders said that the Eid shopping in local and city markets is not encouraging so far as markets seem to be empty with minimal rush of people. (KNS)
