Srinagar, 20 May (KNS: )Former legislator and Peoples Conference senior leader Mansoor Soharwardy has paid rich tributes to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Late Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq.

"I pay homage to Late Abdul Gani Lone and Late Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq for the supreme sacrifice they made for Kashmir. Both the leaders rendered sacrifice for peace and for the sake of the Kashmiri people. They will be remembered for their immense contributions towards socio-political emancipation of the people of J&K", Mansoor said in a statement issued to Kashmir news service (KNS).

He said that Abdul Gani Lone sahib was a visionary and selfless leader who will be remembered for his political astuteness, fearlessness and commitment towards finding a lasting and peaceful solution of the Kashmir issue. 

Remembering Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq as a towering religious leader, Mansoor said that his contribution to the religious emancipation of the people of Jammu and Kashmir was unparalleled. 

"His contribution in the field of Islamic learning and theology in Kashmir would be remembered for a long time", he added.(KNS)
