BARAMULLA, Jan 15: The Baramulla Police will thursday lead a comprehensive Joint Disaster Preparedness and Security Response Rehearsal at the tourist destination of Gulmarg. The exercise, which will commence on the morning of Wednesday, January 15, 2025, is part of routine security and public safety protocols.
In an official statement issued to the Kashmir News Service (KNS), authorities clarified that the drill is "purely precautionary" in nature. Its primary objectives are to evaluate operational readiness, test response protocols, and enhance inter-agency coordination among the participating security forces.
During the rehearsal, personnel will engage in simulated exercises, including area domination, routine checks, and public assistance procedures in and around Gulmarg. Officials emphasized that these activities are standard for such training events.

The public has been urged not to be alarmed by the increased security presence. All essential services, tourism operations, and daily civilian activities will continue without interruption throughout the exercise. Local residents and visitors are requested to extend their full cooperation to the security teams on the ground.
The multi-agency drill will involve coordinated participation from units of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Border Security Force (BSF).
"Baramulla Police remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring peace, security, and public confidence at all times," the statement concluded, reiterating the proactive nature of the preparedness measures.
