Srinagar 29 May (KNS): Leading Pulmonologist and Head of Department, chest Diseases hospital Srinagar, Dr Naveed Nazir Shah said that Lockdown is temporary measure of containment and not the solution for long-term Covid-19 control and added that adherence of SOPs along with mask-use and physical distancing need to be pursued for the foreseeable future.

Talking to reporters on sidelines of Kashmir Economic Alliance function, he said that all age groups will be covered in the Vaccination program and as of now vaccination for 18-45 age group is in process and vaccination for 45 plus age group people is about to touch completion line. 

On vaccine hesitancy, he said that adherence of SOPs and effective Vaccine which is available with us are the only solutions to remain away from getting infected and added that one cannot claim in this modern era that we don't have any definite treatment available.

Naveed also said that millions of doses have been administered around the world and there have been no incidents involving major side-effects so far.(KNS)
