Local parks turn hotspots as thousands throng to celebrate Eid

Srinagar April 22 (KNS): Local parks were bustling with activities across the Kashmir Valley as thousands mostly children thronged these parks to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. 


Thousands mostly children along with their families were seen waiting in queues outside public parks across the Kashmir Valley. 

An official from floriculture department told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that around 5,000 people visited Gulnar Park in Baramulla and hundreds of people visited many other parks in north Kashmir.

He said Langate public park also witnessed huge rush of visitors on the occasion of Eid. 

A small unexplored tourist spot in Watayin Handwara also attracted visitors in sufficient number, where people enjoyed fresh air and lush green shrubs, he said. 

People were also seen carrying food items, soft drinks and other eatables to celebrate Eid with friends and their loved ones.
 
The official said they are pleased to see huge number of visitors visiting public parks and other tourist spots, helping to genrate revenue. 

“We are committed to improve the infrastructure of our parks to make them more decorated and colourful,” he added. 

Jammu Kashmir police and traffic cops were deployed in sufficient number at several locations to keep a check on rash driving, stunt bikers and other violators. (KNS)
