Srinagar, Oct 01 (KNS): In its continuous effort of demolition drives launched by Lakes and Waterways Development Authority through its Enforcement Wing, several illegal constructions/encroachments were demolished from the last few days under the supervision of Enforcement Officers (Zone A & B), in the area of, Lashkari Mohalla NFR, Saderbal Nigeen, Rainawari & Baghwanpora Lal Bazar, where several illegal constructions / encroachments were raised by the violators. 

During the drive there was a little resistance from the assembled crowd during demolition process but the demolition team remained on forefront and managed to demolish the raised illegal structures. 

Besides, legal action was also initiated against the violators.

Moreover a spontaneous anti-encroachment drive was also launched against the barbeque/tea stall vendors etc. from Dalgate to Habak on 29.09.2021, who have illegally raised polythene based temporary stalls and have encroached the footpath thereby creating hurdles to the pedestrians/tourist. 

During the drive all such temporary polythene raised stalls etc. were removed and encroachment on the footpath was cleared. 

The local people also hailed the drive. (KNS)
