Pulwama July 12 (KNS): An awareness program was organized by Labour Department at Circuit House Pulwama for Building and Other Construction Workers.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Hafsa Qayoom (Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pulwama) made the participants aware about the different welfare schemes being run by the JKBOCWWB further the chief guest Dr. Basharat Qayoom, IAS (District Development Commissioner, Pulwama) released an amount of Rs. 10760000/- (One Crore Seven Lac Sixty Thousand )  among 1780 beneficiaries under different welfare schemes run by JKBOCWWB and directed Assistant Labour Commissioner to conduct more such programs in the industrial district to aware about different Labour Laws and Welfare Schemes of the department.

Also visiting officer/official of J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Dr. Nida Yousuf (Assistant Labour Commissioner, JKBOCWWB) speaking on the occasion and briefed the participants about the Welfare Schemes of JKBOCWWB and present in vogue and those to be incorporated from the next financial year which are increase in the rate of scholarship for various classes, special scholarship for the wards of registered BOC workers who secure 90% and above marks for the class 10th and 12th, resume of marriage assistance scheme with the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board upto 2 children.

Besides this the chief guest of the program has directed all the un-registered workers to get themselves registered in the construction board from Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pulwama to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes for betterment of the livelihood. The function was also attended by staff of labour department and labours from different areas of the district.(KNS)
