KWT in collaboration with Food for Poor Group organised Mission Wushnare winter kit distribution program

Srinagar November 27 (KNS) : Keeping with its past practice of addressing those deprived who can’t afford fine woollens and state of art heating gadgets are empowered to fight the chill this winter, Kashmir Welfare Trust in collaboration with Food for Poor Group conducted Mission Wushnare-2022 winter kit distribution programme at Bilaliya Educational Institute Lal Bazaar Srinagar, today. The programme was aimed to distribute among the identified families the winter kits containing Kangris, Woollen Pherans, Blankets, Thermals, Food kits & woollen dress materials. 


The programme was attended by philanthropists, environmentalists, educationists, volunteers and civil society members. Numerous identified beneficiaries from different parts of the valley thronged the event who were provided the kits in presence of the guests. Nearly 300 families mostly widows, orphans & specially abled who thronged the venue from different parts of remote North Kashmir’s Tangmarg, Pattan, Palhalan, Kreeri, Kandi and Baramulla besides needy families from Srinagar were handed over the winter kits. 

This mission was kick-started at 12:00 PM in the school premises where numerous personalities mostly belonging to voluntary sector participated besides volunteers and staff of Kashmir welfare Trust. The event was started with the valedictory programme where those individuals who have done exemplary job towards the welfare of the downtrodden were presented with the awards and citations for their services to the humanity. Heads & volunteers of different NGO’s, societies, groups, welfare organisation, and media personnel present in the session thanked Kashmir Welfare Trust and Food for Poor Group for holding this unique distribution programme.

Chairman Kashmir Welfare Trust Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo in the statement issued thanked all the guests for participating in the event and he expressed his special thanks to Food for Poor Group for the active cooperation and collaboration. Wangnoo also appreciated the role of volunteers who organised the event.

The guests who spoke at the occasion expressed their appreciations to KWT and Food for Poor for organising such an impactful distribution drive. The guests hoped that the kits distributed will help alleviate the suffering of the underprivileged.(KNS)
