Kupwara-Karnah road reopened for vehicular movement

Kupwara, Jan 10, (KNS): After remaining closed for a week, the Karnah-Kupwara road reopened for vehicular movevement on Sunday.


   Kupwara-Machil, Budnamal and Jummagand roads remained suspendeded nearly a week due to accumulation of about three to four feet of snow.


  According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) Correspondent, the road to Karnah from district headquarters Kupwara reopened on Sunday after remaining closed for a week due to heavy snowfall . However, the border towns of Machil, Jummagand and Budnamal remained cut off due to slippery road conditions and accumulation of snow. 


 An administrative official told Kashmir news Service (KNS) that, one-way traffic  on Sunday, was resumed on Karnah-Kupwara road after remaining suspended for a week due to snowfall, he said traffic was resumed after the snow clearance operation on the road was completed on last evening and drivers have been cautioned regarding overloading and advised to attach anti-skid chains to tyres to avoid any untowards ancident, given priorty to emergency vehicles  with patients and students having exam (KNS).
