Kupwara admin to Intensify anti-encroachment drive

Kupwara Dec 06 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Dr Sagar on Tuesday directed revenue department to start an intense drive on daily basis to remove all encroachments on government land, and common land across the frontier district.


Dr Sagar directed the revenue officials to carry out the anti-encroachment drive, wherever state land has been occupied in the district.

Speaking during a program in Handwara, DC Kupwara said that earlier a delegation from Handwara met him and apprised about the encroachment. "I assured them the action. I was happy to see that people want us to act against encroachment," he said. 

"I want the tehsil administration Handwara, to take the help of police, revenue department to remove all encroachments in the area," he said.

He strictly warned the officials to deal with encroachment and ensure no common land is occupied by any individual or household. DC exhorted upon the concerned officers to keep strict vigil to prevent encroachment.

He also urged people for cooperation to remove the encroachments, all this land is for public welfare.

While expressing his disappointment over dumping heaps of garbage in an open in Handwara bus stand, DC Kupwara asked the concerned department to ensure the garbage gets properly dumped. 

The DC Kupwara Dr Sagar was addressing a gathering during 'My Town My Pride' in Handwara where he also appreciated arrangements made Handwara administration and MC Langate. (KNS)
