Kulgam : May 29 (KNS): Kulgam Police today said accused involved in Hit and Run case in Mirbazar area was arrested within three hours after the commission of crime.

A Police official told KNS that An information was received at Police Post Mirbazar from reliable sources that two persons who were moving on Vehicle (Motorcycle) bearing registration No. JK03J-2738 was hit by unknown vehicle; resulting grievous injuries to the persons and they are lying on road in unconscious state at Ganjipora on NHW area of Mirbazar.

" On tip off police party reached the place of occurrence where the bodies of persons whose identity was ascertained as, Shahid Ahmad Malla son of Abdul Rashid Malla and Majid Rashid Ganai son of Abdul Rashid Ganai the residents of Bongund Dooru were lying on road as their death was resulted on spot after they were hit by the vehicle and the driver of vehicle fled away from spot along with vehicle," Police official added.

Police has registered a case with FIR No. 116/2021 U/S 279, 304 IPC at Police Station Qazigund.

The Police statement said a special police team of Police Post Mirbazar led by I/C PP Mirbazar Sub Inspector Imtiyaz Ahmad under the supervision of SHO Qazigund Insp. Irshad Reshi and SDPO Qazigund S Govind Rattan was constituted instantly to nab the culprits.

"After hectic efforts the accused driver of the vehicle Mohd Hussain Tantray son of Abdul Rahim Tantray resident of Furra was arrested within three hours after information was recieved by Police Post Mirbazar from Furra and vehicle bearing Registration number JK03G-7799 (Wagnor Car) was also recovered and seized.
