KU's NSS organises series of events to celebrate 'Yuva Utsav'

Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS) : Nehru Yuva Kendra Srinagar in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS) University of Kashmir on Wednesday organised the District Youth Convention 'Yuva Samvad–India@2047' on the theme, 'Goal of Developed India'.


To celebrate 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' in the spirit of Yuva Shakti, more than 300 talented youth participated in the competitive events including Young Artist Contest–Painting; Young Writers Content--Poetry; 
Photography Contest; Declamation Contest; 
District Youth Convention and District Youth Festival.

The competitive events were planned meticulously so that the best students are selected for further participation at the UT and national level competitions.

Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir, Registrar, University of Kashmir, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that such initiatives aim to rekindle the sprit of patriotism to generate appreciation about diverse spiritual and cultural heritage among the masses and to form a fraternity of youth artists, writers, photographers and orators who will lead this movement from grassroots level to national level.

This Mahotsav is awaking and fulfilling the dream of good governance and development, he said.

The winners adjudged by qualified and reputed team were awarded with cash prizes and certificates. 

NSS programme coordinator Dr Musavir Ahmad said that concept of India@2047 has its genesis in the vision of Honourable Prime Minister about engagement of youth in nation-building and empowering them to become leaders in all walks of life.

It also gives youth an opportunity to develop their personality through public speaking, he said.

Addressing the youth, Deputy Director NYKS Hakeem Abdul Aziz said that the participants drawn from diverse backgrounds aimed to capture the vast diversity to showcase youth power (Yuva Shakti) at the district-level.(KNS)
