KU library facility open for students, scholars

Srinagar, Nov 25 (KNS): "This has reference to certain news reports alleging therein that the University Library Facility is closed for students and scholars. The said allegation is far from truth and is refuted," said the spokesperson of Kashmir University.

He said that the University would like to clarify that the Reference Section in the Library remains open for issuance of books as well as for reading purposes. "The said section is spacious enough to accomodate students and scholars in adherence with social distancing measures and other SOPs," the spokesperson said.

"With regard to 24×7 facility, it is clarified that since the said facility is located underground without much ventilation, it is not deemed advisable to throw it open for mass gathering for now in interest of safety of students owing to concerns related to COVID19," he said. "The facility shall be thrown open at an appropriate time in adherence to the necessary COVID19 SOPs. We request our students to cooperate with us," the spokesperson added. (KNS)
