KTA demands uninterrupted power supply during Ramadan

Srinagar, Mar 14 (KNS): The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has urged the administration to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement released today, KTA President Aijaz Shahdhar expressed concern over the ongoing power cuts plaguing the region despite the commencement of the sacred month.

"Despite the ongoing Ramadan, Kashmir continues to face power cuts," lamented Shahdhar. "The situation during the winter was no different, although now with improved temperatures and increased water discharge in rivers, the earlier reason given by authorities for low power generation should no longer be valid."

Shahdhar highlighted the irony of the situation, stating, "It is unfortunate that despite metering, curtailments are still on and that too unscheduled. The business community is badly affected by it. One of the factors in ease of doing business should be an uninterrupted power supply."

Despite assurances from authorities, the problem persists, causing inconvenience and disruptions to daily life, especially during this sacred period, the statement said.(KNS)
