Srinagar,Nov 20 (KNS): The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has fervently urged the Directorate of School Education in Kashmir to declare a winter vacation for schoolchildren, citing the prevailing cold weather conditions.
President Aijaz Shahdhar in a statement emphasized the plight of students, particularly those in lower classes, who are grappling with the challenges of attending school in the frigid temperatures.
Shahdhar pointed out the pressing issue of the lack of centralized heating in homes, buses, and schools, making it essential to adapt to the weather conditions. The absence of proper heating facilities adds an extra layer of difficulty for children and their parents, especially during the early hours of the day.
Expressing deep concern for the health of schoolchildren, the KTA highlighted the potential risks associated with exposure to severe fog and sub-zero temperatures. The association argued that these adverse weather conditions not only pose health hazards but also impede students' ability to concentrate in school, thereby diminishing the effectiveness of classroom activities.
As the KTA brings attention to the urgent need for a winter break, it anticipates a swift response from the Directorate of School Education to address the well-being and safety of Kashmir's young students amidst the challenging winter climate.(KNS)
