Srinagar, Oct 02 (KNS): Enrolment, issuance of Disability Certificates and Universal ID for Person with Disabilities in Jammu and Kashmir started today officially. The UDID project initiated by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities aims at building a holistic end-to-end integrated system for Issuance of Universal ID & Disability Certificates for Person with Disabilities with their identification and disability details.
"Unique ID for Persons with Disabilities” project is now being implemented in the state of Jammu and Kashmir started from today by Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai at civil secretariat Srinagar.
While speaking about this initiative Ganai said that the project will not only encourage transparency, efficiency and ease of delivering the government benefits to the person with disabilities, but also ensure uniformity and will also help in stream-lining the tracking of physical and financial progress of beneficiary at all levels of hierarchy of implementation – from village level, block level, District level, State level and National level.
It includes - Online availability of data of Person with Disabilities across country through a centralized web application. Online filing and submission of registration application form for disability certificate/ Universal ID card; Offline applications may also be accepted and subsequently digitized by agencies. Quick Assessment process for calculating the percentage of disability by the hospitals/ Medical Board. Non-duplication of PwDs data. Online renewal and update of information by Person with Disabilities/ on their behalf
PwDs are required to register with the UDID portal. Once registered, after the login is complete, they will be able to apply online for Disability Certificate and UDID card via http://www.swavlambancard.gov.in/ . They will also be able to track the status of their application.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey can put forward their request for renewal of Disability Certificate/UDID Card and also request for another card in case of loss of their UDID Card. They can also download and print the copy of their respective Disability Certificate/UDID Card. One of the unique features shall be the ability to locate their CMO Office/Medical Authority for assessment of disability, District Welfare Officer to receive assistance and to know about the various schemes for Persons with Disabilities. They will also be able to view latest news/announcements pertaining to disabilities.
The UDID card Benefits as articulated by Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone secretary Social Welfare, the UDID card shall bring a host of benefits to the Persons with Disabilities and Persons with disabilities will not need to make multiple copies of documents, maintain, and carry multiple documents as the card will capture all the necessary details which can be decoded with the help of a reader. The UDID card will be the single document of identification, verification of the disabled for availing various benefits in future. The UDID Card will also help in stream-lining the tracking of the physical and financial progress of beneficiary at all levels of hierarchy of implementation – from village level, block level, District level , State level and National level
Ten (10) disability certificates with unique Identity Cards for persons with disabilities where generated today to inaugurate this project officially. During the occasion Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Iqbal Lone also provided details of the certificates issues in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and also the training program recently held at Srinagar and Jammu separately for line departments particularly with CMOs for smooth implementation of this project.
