KGC felicitates first batch of trained golfers

Srinagar, July 31 (KNS): KGC has added one more feather to its cap by facilitating the first young batch of trained golfers who were given certificates by the secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafeez who was flanked by MD Golf development authority and Director SKICC Humayun Bakhshi Javed.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Bakhshi termed it as a new leap for making the Golfing sport a commoners game 

He added that the young aspirants have an opportunity to hone their golfing skills which he said can take them to national and international sports arenas and this can open economically rewarding career opportunities for them as well.

Bakshi Javed Wished good luck to the aspiring golfer’s who were mostly young students.

The second batch comprising of 35 girls and boys each, picked by Youth services and sports department mainly from government schools, was also exposed to the turf.

“This initiative mainly is the brain child of Honble LG and has been taken well by the young Golf aspirants creating huge traffic on the turf which has made KGC management to frame the schedule and now the turf is booked for three months which will make the new batches to wait upto there months.”

As per the statement, the award cermony was attended by CEO PDA Mr Masarat, CEO GDA Mr Zahoor Joint director Youth Services Mr Bashir Ahmad, Div Sports Officer Mr Balbir Coach Fayaz and Other prominent Golfers. (KNS)
