Kashmir university’s decision to hike 100 Percent paper checking fee bizarre, unacceptable: Kadfeen

Srinagar October 13:(KNS) Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has expressed serious concern over the 100 per cent hike in the rates of remuneration for various examination related assignments in University of Kashmir.

Kadfeen in a statement to KNS, has said that the administration in the university has in an unnatural manner doubled the rate of remuneration for checking of the examination papers and through such a move, few chosen ones are aimed to be benefitted. He has maintained that Kashmir University has a policy of giving remuneration to the teachers for performing the examination related assignments and in the recent past, 100 percent hike in the remuneration rate has been ordered by varsity authorities which is akin to open plunder of public resources.

Kadfeen has said that through such a questionable decision, the university of Kashmir has created a liability of whooping more than five crore rupees for itself which in the end has to come out of the public money.

Kadfeen said that reports are coming to fore that such a huge decision has been taken without the concurrence of 'Financial Advisor' and more importantly of the University Council. This speaks volumes about how decision making happens in the university and how brazenly they can violate all the logic, procedures and norms.

He has urged the authorities to probe the matter and reverse such decisions which are raising doubts about the credibility of this knowledge centre. (KNS)
