Srinagar, Jan 6 (KNS): Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended 11 fire incidents across various districts of the Kashmir region in the past 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday, adding that no loss of life was reported.
According to the Fire and Emergency Services Department, all incidents were brought under control through prompt and coordinated action, preventing major damage to life and property.
In Bandipora district, a fire broke out in a cow shed at Rawalpora Matipota in Ajas. In Srinagar, dry grass caught fire near Royal Spring Golf Course at Lalit Ghat, while one room of a three-storeyed residential house was affected by fire at Wazirbagh near LD Bagh.
In Ganderbal’s Safapora area, a single-storey GCI-made shed was damaged in a fire at Pehlipora. Budgam district reported two incidents — forest trees were affected by fire at Wazibagh in Char-e-Sharief, and a fire involving a gas cylinder was reported at Soibugh.

In Pulwama’s Zainapora area, two hay stacks were gutted in a fire at Gujar Basti. Kupwara district reported a fire incident in which a residential house caught fire at Kachloo in Qaziabad.
The department said swift response by fire units ensured timely control of all incidents. No casualties were reported in any of the fires.
Meanwhile, ADGP Fire and Emergency Services Alok Kumar urged the public to strictly follow fire safety guidelines, ensure the safe use of electrical appliances and gas cylinders, and promptly report any fire incident to the nearest fire station or control room to minimise damage.(KNS).
