Kashmir witnessing worst ever power supplies : Laigaroo


Srinagar December 27 (KNS): PDP leader Arif Laigroo has expressed deep concern over power shortage in Srinagar and other areas of Kashmir and demanded immediate end to it.

He alleged that the electricity supply schedule was not being properly followed and urged the administration to deal with the electricity “crisis” on a priority basis.

Statement issued to news agency-kashmir news service reads, “There complaints from the city as well from rural areas about the erratic power,” he said. ““The people of, especially students, are appalled at the state of electricity supply. Nopower schedule is being followed by the power development department here.”

Laigaroo said that “if the state of affairs is so awful in Srinagar city than what would be the situation in small towns, hamlets and higher reaches of the kashmir ''.

“The administration is slumber ridden, the current situation demands action. The power crisis should be dealt with on a priority basis to ensure that people don’t suffer during the winter months,” he said.

“The government is resorting to some revengeful tactics that Kashmir is witnessing worst ever power supplies this winter. The electricity remains off for most part of the day while low voltage plays hide and seek other times,” PDP leader added (KNS).
