JKPM Demands Sanctioning of Mini-Secretariat For  Anantnag

Anantnag, Feb:(KNS)  J&K Peoples Movement (JKPM) has demanded the sanction of a mini-secretariat for the Anantnag district.

In a press statement issued here, JKPM Vice-president Solicitor Syed Iqbal Tahir said that the present premises of the Deputy Commissioner office is inadequate to meet the requirements of the people of Anantnag district.

Elaborating on this issue, Iqbal Tahir said the DC office complex at Anantnag is suffering from a shortage of space and the buildings in the complex are worn out and dilapidated.  He further said that various district level offices which ideally should have been located in the DC office complex are scattered at various places in Anantnag town. “These offices include the offices of district offices belonging to health, agriculture, horticulture and social welfare. As a consequence, common people have to visit different locations. If a mini secretariat is sanctioned, then all these offices will be located at a single place which will provide a big relief to the common people of Anantnag district” Iqbal Tahir said.

In his statement, Iqbal Tahir alleged that the people of Anantnag have been ignored by successive regimes and the past representatives of the area have failed to address the developmental needs of Anantnag. He assured that JKPM is committed to fulfilling all the aspirations of the people of Anantnag.(KNS
