JKPM aghast over continuous restrictions on Friday prayers at historical Jamia Masjid Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 31 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement anguished over continuous restrictions on Friday Prayers at Jamia Masjid Shareef Nowhatta.

JKPM said that it is very unfortunate and discriminatory act by the police and UT administration that people are not being allowed to offer Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar.

"It seems that administration is showing aggressive approach in this regard and it is Condemnable act," JKPM said.

JKPM further said that there is no strong reason to impose restrictions on Friday prayers as political partys' rallies, conventions, meetings were going on as usual and no restrictions were imposed on such gatherings and why restrictions are being imposed on Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid Shareef Srinagar only.

JKPM urged LG Manoj Sinha Ji to intervene in that matter and allow people to offer Friday prayers at Historical Jamia Masjid Shareef Srinagar as soon as possible for the interests and religious sentiments of general public. (KNS)
