JKCSF aghast over the untested entry of travellers, demands ban the nocturnal entry into J&K

Srinagar, 22 May (KNS): Notwithstanding the lacunas and lapses of any kind amidst the upsurge of a deadly pandemic and its ramifications Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has taken a dig on the govt for what it called big negligence of the untested nocturnal infiltration of labourers and others into J&K risking the life of one and all in Jand K.

In a statement issued to Kashmir news service (KNS) Chairman JKCSF, Abdul Qayoom Wani expressed anguish over the grim situation saying that on one hand there was strict lockdown inside J&K and the economy was crippled and people have been bearing the losses for the sake of health and life but at the same time the outside labourers or whosoever the visitors were being allowed to enter J&K without any testing for the COVID-19 as has appeared in newspapers and is abuzz on social media by virtue of pictures and videos.

Wani said there are enormous evidence that these untested labourers then reach into every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir for seeking work and stay in tents and as such risk the lives of the inhabitants to who they come in contact if they are infected

“What use of a strict lockdown and imposition of other SOPs only locally if these nocturnal travellers enter J&K the whole prevention goes into vain” Wani questioned.

JKCSF vehemently urges the govt to ban the nocturnal entry of travellers into J&K to safeguard the lives and health of the people and COVID warriors and to allow them to enter only during the day time when the testing process remains functional.(KNS)
