Establish fire emergency service unit at Qadirabad: Adv Javid Mir, Ab Rashid Bhat

Srinagar August 28:(KNS) Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) leader Advocate Mir Javid and Abdul Rashid Bhat on Friday expressed deep shock and grief over a fire incident that engulfed around 11 shops at Manwan-Awoora block Qadirabad in Kupwara district.

In a statement issued to KNS, the JKAP leaders urged the district administration to depute a revenue team to the fire affected market for assessment of losses and get the compensation disbursed to the fire victims accordingly.

“The reports about the delay in fire services operation which could have prevented damages to a large extent are a matter of serious concern which needs to be probed by the district administration,” they observed.

The JKAP leaders demanded immediate establishment of fire emergency services in the block which can prevent any such eventualities in future. “The government should immediately address the long pending demand of this area and order setting up of a fire emergency service unit in the said block,” they observed, while expressing solidarity with the fire affected shopkeepers.
