JK Education Chamber welcomes Bukhari’s Statement

Srinagar Jammu 14:(KNS)    The Jammu and Kashmir Education Chamber (JKEC) has welcomed the statement given by J&K Apni Party President and former Minister of Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari regarding the recent orders issued by UT Government on reduction of screen timing for online classes. In a statement issued for press, the spokesperson of JKEC has said that such a statement from a former Education Minister, who himself knows the nitty gritty of the education system in Jammu and Kashmir, will really serve as an eye opener for the policy makers and will inspire other politicians to put the picture of education in real perspective before the government. The spokesperson said that Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari’s statement speaks of his broader vision and interest towards betterment of the students of J&K. “ Policy makers always do experimenting on education when it comes to J&K”, the spokesperson said. JKEC has reiterated that reducing screen timing of online classes will not serve the purpose of lessening the burden on small kids. Instead there should be a proper system in place in which teachers are supposed to teach through activities and promote fun based learning using the latest technology available. JKEC has requested the policy makers to make changes in the curriculum as per the needs of digital learning. The association said that other stakeholders should also come forward to stop the policy makers from experimenting in the education sector as the experimenting and devising mechanisms overnight can, in the long run prove counterproductive and will obviously result in hurdles for students of J&K in the global competitions.
