Srinagar October 11:(KNS) Three-day long water sports festival Jashn-e-Dal – 2020 organised by J&K Police concluded today at world-famous Dal Lake, Srinagar. Advisor to Lt. Governor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar was the chief guest, who distributed the prizes among the winners of different competitions. A total of 70 medals were distributed among winners,
Speaking on the occasion R. R. Bhatnagar said that the efforts of J&K Police for organising such big events is appreciable. He said that besides doing multiple tasks whether it is maintenance of security, law & order, traffic controls, or fight against drugs, Jammu and Kashmir Police is providing multiple platforms to the youth, and opportunities for them to show and hone their skills in different sports activities. He said in such platforms and competitions the raw and hidden talent is nurtured not only in urban areas but also in rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh welcomed the Chief Guest R. R. Bhatnagar Advisor to Lt Governor J&K, Mr. K. K. Sharma, senior Police and Civil officers for gracing the closing ceremony of Jashn-e-Dal. The DGP complimented ADGP Armed A. K Choudhary and organising secretary SSP Maqsood Ul Zaman, Water Sports Director Ms. Bilaques Mir and her team for organising the water sports festival. He thanked the organisers for organising the water sports after a gap of three years. He said that now water sports are not famous only in Srinagar district but have spread to the other districts as well.
The DGP said that Water Sports players in Jammu and Kashmir are making good use of its large water bodies. He said that National Camp for water sports is being held in Kashmir soon which will boost the morale of sports lovers of this game. He said that water sports games are very interesting and the participants took full advantage of the event. I hope that the young and energetic participants will bring lot of medals at the national, international level and will bring laurels to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Advisor (B) declared the games closed and distributed prizes and trophies among the winners of different categories. ADGP Armed J&K Arun Choudhary Chairman of the Organising Committee presented the vote of thanks. He thanked Chief Guest and different departments who provide assistance and help in organizing such a mega event. ADsGP R. R. Swain, Shri SJM Gillani, A. G. Mir, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir,Sh Pandurang K. Pole, IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar, IGP CIV (PHQ) Alok Kumar, AIG (Pers) Rajeshwar Singh, other gazette Police/Civil officers, and large number of civilians attended the closing ceremony.

Showkat Ali got first position in 50 mtr free style open swimming for senior men while Aijaz Ahmad Dar second and Irfan Ahmad Bhat third position in the event.
Saif Ilahi got first position in 50 mtr free style swimming for Junior boys, while Mohd Abass got second and Showkat Hussain third position in the event.

Suhail Ahmad got first position in 100 mtr free style open swimming for senior men, while Ahsaan Ali second and Saleem Raja third position in the event.
Adil Hussain got first position in 100 mtr free style swimming for junior men, while Amir Ali second and Willayat Hussain third position in the event.
Waseem Raja, Aijaz Ahmad Dar, Saleem Raja, Mehraj-ud-din Bujal shared first position in 4 x 50 mtr relay open swimming for senior men, while Irfan Ahmad Bhat, Suhail Ahmad Dar, Moisar Ahmad Bhat, Maqsood Ahmad Bhat shared second and Showkat Ahmad Khan, Mohd Yaseen Khan, Khalid Ahmad Khan, Zulfkar Ali shared third position in the event.
Shabir Hussain Kand, Aqib Hussain Kand, Ashiq Hussain Kand Mohd Abass Kand shared first position in 4 x 50 mtr relay open swimming for junior boys, while Abid Hussain, Shahnawaz Hussain Bhat, Ahsan Ali, Amir Hussain shared second and Ansar Hussain, Adil Hussain, Dawood Hussain, Maqsood Hussain shared third position in the event.
Suhail Ahmad Dar got first position in Swimming long distance senior men, while Waseem Raja second, Aijaz Ahmad Dar third, Ahsaan Ali fourth and Showkat Hussain fifth position in the event.
Adil Hussain Tinda got first position in Swimming long distance junior boys, while Shahnawaz Hussain Bhat second, Abid Hussain third, Sajad Hussain fourth and Azan Gulzar fifth position in the event.
Maqsood Hussain got first position in 200 mtr K-1 for junior boys, while Mohd Abass second and Mohsin Ali third position in the event.
