Hails JK BOSE for immediate ban on controversial book, seeks legal action against Delhi based publisher

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum has condemned the publishing of "blasphemous material" in the History book of class 7th, while seeking legal action against Delhi based publishing house. 

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), chairman JK Teachers Forum, Mohammad Rafique Rather said that it is preposterous and shameful act of pictorial depiction of sensitive nature relating to a particular religion aimed at hurting the sentiments of millions of its followers all over the world. 

The statement reads that the act is in no case is acceptable and tolerable as well. "Authorities need to investigate as to how the material was distributed among schools without a review by the concerned authorities and initiate action against those found guilty," it reads. 

Rather also hailed Board of School Education for its prompt and immediate action of imposing a ban on the book and subsequent withdrawal of said book from all schools. 

He also sought legal action against the publisher JAY CEE Publishing house for this grave mistake and display of insensitivity towards a highly sensitive issue, despite their public apology. (KNS)
