Expressed Gratitude to District Admin Bandipora for joining ration kits distribution

Bandipora,16 May (KNS): J&K Students Association in Collaboration with District Administration Bandipora here today distributed over 120 Food kits at the doorsteps of needy and destitute families in different areas of Bandipora district. Each food kit contained Flour, Salt, Namkeen Tea, Lipton Tea, rice, Turmeric Powder, Chilli Powder, Sugar, Pulses, Detergent Powder, Edible Oil & Dates, and other essential items.

Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami thanked District administration Bandipora for joining ration kits distribution to vulnerable needy families & supporting endeavour that no household should be without food during this unprecedented Corona pandemic time. We are providing kits to migrant daily-wage earners, construction labourers, workers, and people who are unemployed and unable to provide food for their families, he said.

This has been a collaborative effort with various stakeholders- the Government, individual donors, volunteer groups. We have set up packaging centres in various locations where our volunteers pack relief kits before their distribution, he adds.

Mehraj Ahmad, Social Media Coordinator of the Association said, The families were identified by the local community and referred to the Association. Over 120 food packs were distributed among the beneficiaries of various areas of the Bandipora district. The food items were distributed “among those whose livelihood got affected” due to the lockdown. He appreciated the efforts of District Administration Bandipora for reaching out to people during a lockdown. (KNS)
