J&K’s Tassaduq Rashid listed among MHA’s national DG Disc awardees

New Delhi, Dec 6 (KNS): Several Civil Defence and Home Guards personnel from Jammu & Kashmir have figured among the recipients of the DG Disc and Commendation Certificate announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the occasion of the 63rd Annual Day of Civil Defence & Home Guards observed on December 6, 2025.

In the Civil Defence category, the Bronze Disc was awarded to 46 personnel across various States and Departments, including two senior officials from Jammu & Kashmir — Swarn Singh and Tassaduq Rashid, both serving as Chief Wardens, Civil Defence.

The awards recognise their service and contribution to civil protection and disaster-related duties.

In the Home Guards category, honours were conferred at three levels — Gold, Silver and Bronze. Masroor Adhmad Mir, Commandant of SDRF from Jammu & Kashmir, received the Gold Disc for his leadership and operational role in strengthening disaster response capabilities. Among recipients of the Bronze Disc in the Home Guards category — awarded to 94 personnel — several distinguished officials from J&K were included, while notable recipients nationwide included Manish Kumar Agrawal, DIG of Police from Madhya Pradesh, and Udaybhan Singh Gurjar, Company Commander from Rajasthan.

Eleven Home Guards personnel across States received the Silver Disc, including senior officers from Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

The Directorate General of Fire Services, Civil Defence & Home Guards has instructed Directorates in States, Union Territories and Departments to verify the names and designations of all awardees.

Any corrections have been asked to be forwarded to the designated office by December 20, 2025.

The DG Disc and Commendation Certificate are conferred annually to recognise exemplary service, dedication and contributions toward civil protection, rescue operations and strengthening response mechanisms across the country.(KNS).
