J&K Police Chief Rejects Militant Conspiracy behind DG Lohia's Murder

Srinagar, Oct 04 (KNS): Director General of  Police Dilbagh Singh on Tuesday termed the claims of responsibility of militant organisations behind the murder case of J&K Director General of Police (Prisons) Hemant Kumar Lohia  baseless.

The director General of Police Dilbag Singh described it as an "extremely unfortunate" incident and said that the accused as per history is an aggressive, unstable person.

"He (HK Lohia) had been staying at his friend's house for the past few days. After having dinner, he went back to his room. The domestic helper was inside his room to message his ailing foot," the DGP said.

He also said that the helper then latched the door from inside and attacked him several times with a sharp weapon, also tried to suffocate him after putting fire to some cloth.

Notably, Lohia’s dead body was found under suspicious circumstances on Monday evening. The IPS officer was found with multiple stab injuries and burn injuries.(KNS)
