Srinagar July 22 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Thursday led a party delegation of Former Legislators to meet the Lt. Governor at Raj Bhawan and submitted a memorandum to the President of India, demanding probe by Supreme Court judge into the unconstitutional hacking of cell phone of Rahul Gandhi, his staff and other constitution functionaries in the country.

 

As per a statement, issuer to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Congress delegation also had a detailed discussion with the LG on various issues of public importance and other developmental issues concerning J&K.

 

It said that they also submitted memorandum with regard to various pressing demands and concerns of people of J&K and sought their resolution.

 

Former Legislators Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Mohd Amin Bhat and Gulzar Ahmad Wani were part of the delegation.

 

Congress delegation in a memorandum submitted to President of India demanded probe by Supreme Court Judge into the unconstitutional hacking of cell phone of Rahul Gandhi, his staff and other constitutional functionaries in the Country.

 

The memorandum reads that it was surprising rather shocking to learn about the hacking of cell phone by the Centre Govt for which Spyware Pegasus has been used to hack cellphone in the run up to the 2019 parliamentary elections.

 

It reads that Congress party strongly condemns the illegal and unconstitutional hacking of cell phone of leader of opposition and other constitutional functionaries by the Centre Govt and demand strict action against all those responsible behind this illegal exercise.

 

Former Legislators led by JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir also had a detailed discussion with the LG on various developmental and other issues concerning people in Jammu as well as in Kashmir and submitted a detailed memorandum to LG, seeking resolution of people’s grievances.

 

The statement reads that Congress Party expressed disappointment over the rising unemployment in Jammu Kashmir and demanded that Govt must address the unemployment menace.

                      

It reads that Congress Party also criticized introducing tender system at Panchayat level through which allocated development funds amounting to Rs.23.00 lacks is reportedly going to be spent and said this process was not going to help people at ground level, as the same was required to be spent through MGNREGA benefitting locals by generating 100 job days. 

 

“Tendering process at Panchayat level won’t benefit deserving people, so Govt must revisit this decision to allow Panchayat to function in a proper way, keeping inview the interests of locals, Congress party told the LG.”

 

As per the statement, the memorandum further reiterated that Govt must announce package for horticulture and agriculture sectors, which has also witnessed huge losses due to the untimely rains and hailstorm, besides seeking implementation of back to village recommendations at ground level in Kashmir as well as in Jammu.
