J&K Civil Secretariat Employees Union facilitate shifting of move employees to summer capital

Srinagar, Apr 25 (KNS): J&K Civil Secretariat Employees Union on Saturday took initiative to facilitate the return of Secretariat employees from winter capital Jammu to summer capital Srinagar.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), President J&K Civil Secretariat Employees Union Rouf Ahmad greeted people of J&K on eve of Ramadhan. He said we have taken an initiative to facilitate return of secretariat employees to summer capital Srinagar in wake of lockdown.

“Several employees on the direction of administration have commenced to shift Kashmir to resume their duties as Darbar is going to open on May 4 in summer capital”, Rauf said.

He said we have taken an initiative to facilitate their movement so that they can meet their families.

“On Saturday, almost 500 move employees from Old BC, New BC, Sarwal, TRC and other areas started journey towards Kashmir”, Rouf said and added, “Employees from Panjtirthi, Company Bagh and other areas will also be shifted to their homes after obtaining valid passes from authorities”.

He appealed administration to issue passes at earliest so that employees could meet their families in turbulent times. He also appealed employees as well as people in general to maintain social distance at any cost in wake of Covid-19 pandemic so that the virus could be challenged vigorously.

It is pertinent to mention that J&K administration had earlier said that move offices will open in Srinagar as part of biennial Darbar move on May 4. However, in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the civil secretariat Jammu will continue to remain functional.

“The civil secretariat at Jammu shall continue to remain functional and the move employees shall work on “as is where basis”, i.e. Kashmir based staff shall work from Srinagar and Jammu based staff shall work from Jammu,” read an order issued by the government. (KNS)
