Jammu Railway Staff Returns Bag With Rs 20,000 To Devotee, Wins Hearts


Jammu, Mar 4 (KNS): In yet another display of exemplary honesty, the ticket checking staff of Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has won praise for reuniting a pilgrim with his lost bag containing cash and crucial documents.

According to railway officials, a passenger traveling from Patna, Bihar, to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra on board the 12355 Archana Express accidentally left his bag at the Jammu Railway Station. The pilgrim, who was en route to the famous shrine, had alighted to board another train for Katra when the incident occurred.

The bag, which contained Rs 20,000 in cash, clothes, and important personal documents, was discovered during a routine station check by Chief Ticket Inspector Abdul Rashid. Acting promptly, the official located the passenger’s contact number from the documents and immediately alerted him about the missing belongings.

The grateful passenger expressed his heartfelt thanks to the railway staff for their integrity and swift action.

Commending the team, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), “The Jammu Division is dedicated to ensuring the safety of passengers and their luggage. Acts of honesty like this not only boost passenger confidence but also strengthen the trust in railway services.
