Seek redressal of pending issues including enhancement in salary

Srinagar, 18 Nov (KNS): The self-finance trade vocational instructors of Industrial Training Institutes of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday observed one hour pen-down strike seeking redressal of their demands.

The aggrieved employees told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that like the instructors working against vacancies, there should be hike in salaries of self-finance trade vocational instructors as well.

"We have been repeatedly urging the department for enhancement of our wages at par with the instructors working against vacancies, for the last one year," employees said, adding that they have sent a series of representations to the Principal Secretary Skill Development office pertaining to enhancement of wages.

Meanwhile, as statement said the Principal Secretary had directed Director Skill Development over phone as well to send a proposal in their favor, but unfortunately, the file still lies unprocessed at section office of the directorate.

It reads that in protest to that, the vocational instructors (self-finance trades) observed an hour long pen down strike today across the ITI's of J&K.

The employees further said that if their long pending issues of enhancement of salary are not redressed soon, they will go for an indefinite strike by locking their trades. (KNS)
