Infrastructure building should not be at the cost of people's honour, identify: Hakeem Yaseen

Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNS): Maintaining that building of basic infrastructure was imperative for holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir, Chairman People's Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen on Monday said that development should not be at the cost of people's right on their land and employment. He said protection of thier domicile rights was supreme to the people which can not be compromised.

Reacting to the Jammu and Kashmir Real Estate Summit (2021) that was organised by the Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs and the J&K administration at Jammu today Hakeem Yaseen said that any move to sell land to outsiders would evoke strong resentment among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said protection to the rights of people on land and employment shall have to be kept in mind before seeking proposals for investment in Jammu and Kashmir.

"People of Jammu and Kashmir want protection of thier constitutional gaurantees to uphold their honour, identify and dignity at any costs," Hakeem Yaseen maintained adding that infrastructural development should in no way tample with peoples’ identity and demography.

PDF Chairman has urged the Centre to announce a special employment package for the unemployment youth Jammu and Kashmir, instead of leaving them at the mercy of private companies. (KNS)
